The AITP Chicago Chapter is proud to host and facilitate the 2012 Region 5 Spring Conference at the Holiday Inn Rolling Meadows. Our Region 5 demographic includes the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan as well as parts of Eastern Iowa, Northern Kentucky and the St. Louis Metro area of Missouri.
With outstanding support and cooperation from the Chicago area as well as local and national vendors, organizations and members, this event will offer area and Region 5 Information Technology (IT) professional's exceptional opportunities to network and enhance their skills. The topics presented will be relevant to key issues that many of us face in today's environment and speakers will provide strategic and tactical methods to address those issues. Over the course of two days, we will be able to share, learn and connect with each other and with key partners.
The conference will begin with a kickoff panel discussion presented by the AITP Chicago Office of the CIO Special Interest Group, moderated by Michael Morsch, IT Director, Motorola Solutions, with panelists from Caesars Entertainment, Tellabs, Shure, Inc., Loyola University Chicago and Fidelitone Logistics. The panel topic will be "What is your IT organization really great at?”
The Luncheon keynote CIO panel will be moderated by Robert Kress, COO, Internal IT, Accenture, with CIO panelists from Loyola Chicago, ECOLAB/Nalco, Littelfuse, Inc. and Aon Hewitt. Their topic will be "Running IT like a business”.
The Banquet keynote presenter will be Kim Hammonds, Vice-President & CIO, the Boeing Company. Her topic will be "The business of technology at Boeing”.
General breakout session topic headings include: Social Networking, Innovation, Business Video, Big Data, and Managing Risk. There will be panel discussions and presentations from several Special Interest Groups: Project Management, Mobility, Business Intelligence, IT Security, and Building Effective IT Leaders.
Second day sessions include presentations from Forrester Research, "What the future holds for Mobile Computing” and a networking session from Technology Leaders Association (TLA), "Networking for success in the 21st century”.
Two full day training tracks wrap up our agenda. The first topic is "Preparing your team for high yield innovation”. The second and final presentation, is titled "Preparing for the future generation work force”.
The first day will include a VENDOR SHOWCASE, consisting of the following local and national vendors. The list represents only the initial segment of a growing list of vendors and sponsors expected to join us in welcoming the opportunity to serve the wants and needs of the IT community.
