    About our AITP Professional Chapter
    Capitol Chapter is located in Springfield, Illinois and encompasses central Illinois. The chapter was formed in 1954, with the first president, Ray Bass. We celebrated 50 years as an AITP (formerly DPMA) Chapter in 2004.

    Awards
    The Captiol AITP Chapter has been awarded the Chapter Outstanding Performance Award (COPA) for 2008.

    The Mission of the Capitol Chapter
    AITP Capitol Chapter is the professional association comprised of career minded individuals who seek to expand their potential -- employers, employees, managers, programmers, and many others. The organization seeks to provide avenues for all their members to be teachers as well as students and to make contacts with other members in the IT field, all in an effort to become more marketable in rapidly changing, technological careers. AITP Capitol Chapter will offer opportunities for Information Technology (IT) leadership and education through partnerships with industry, government and academia. AITP provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals. AITP Capitol Chapter will continue to strive to be the organization of choice for IT Professionals, students and others interested in beginning, maintaining or excelling in their Information Technology careers for central Illinois.

    A Message from the Chapter President
    February 2010 - President's Message (so far):

    We have many challenges for 2010 and we are diligently working on great lineup of speakers for upcoming dinner meetings.

    This president's message is a short and sweet interrim note. There will be more information soon.

    I invite you to come to our next meeting, get a drink, enjoy a wonderful meal, experience the benefits of networking, have some fun, and perhaps learn a thing or two.
