A teleconference date to discussion Region options and operations will be conducted 1Q 2010. Date and time to be determined.
Work and discussions continued on defunct, non-operational chapters within the region, and, providing whatever assistance for the three remaining operational chapters and financial concerns.
The Long Island chapter continues to be one of the strongest chapters within the entire Association. Boston and Garden State (Roseland NJ) continue to provide sustaining services to its chapter members.
All other remaining chapters at this time to our knowledge are non-functional, without official officers and are not providing services.
Discussions continued relative to special New York chapter charitable endeavors and the notion of the NY-Northern/Eastern NJ metro chapter.

About the Region
The historic region is the heart of the countries war of independence. From the western and southern borders of New York and New Jersey through Maine, its rolling hills become an artist delight in the fall. The vibrancy of the colors in the fall gives in to the nakedness of winter's glistening white. New birth green in the spring gives hope to the wonderful summers.
With the world's major financial center in New York and a population in a small area unequalled anywhere else in the country, it is the perfect place to start a business or for jobs in the IT arena. Hospitals and colleges proliferate thgoughout the entire region. It is the forward jumping off point to the European community.

The Mission of the Region
Our mission is to support, help and defend the IT community in its needs for information through networking and education and advocacy.
To increase the special interest groups forum to cover those groups having special requirements. Our mission also includes helping the education community in its knowledge and direction using the resources of our members and association.
2009-2010 Activities
KEY ACTIVITIES
* Region/Joint meeting - New York Metro Region with Microsoft
* Region/multi-chapter meeting - New York and Long Island Chapter
* 2009 Summer Educational Seminar - Hosted by Long Island (great event).
Region13 was represented at the recent Member Summit in Chicago. For the first time in a long time, all regions were represented at the annual event.
A planning meeting was held for region 2010 activities during the Member Summit and a more formal communication is being created and planned for disemination.
