AITP National Elections
Voting for national officers is active through August 21, 2006. If you have not voted yet, please do so now! Region 5 has always been active in serving our association. Voting for officers is extremely important for each member. Please consider our candidates and commit to vote your choices. Your vote will make the difference for our association!
Region 5 has the following national candidate:

2007 Region 5 Officer Candidates
The Region nominating committee for 2007 is chaired by Dr. Bob Grenier. Candidates are:

Region Fall Conference
Register now for the Region 5 Fall Conference in St. Louis on September 28, 2006 and September 29, 2006! Watch for online registration via the St. Louis website, www.stlouisaitp.org.
The St. Louis Chapter is hosting a fall conference that will include a presentation by our own 2006 AITP Association President, Mark Gilfand! And, what would a visit to St. Louis be if it didn’t include a Cardinal’s game?!

Region 5 Student Conference
Students and professional members, Region 5 is having its first student conference! Registration and a reception are planned for the evening of Thursday, October 5, 2006 between 6:00 PM and 9 PM. The actual conference is Friday, October 6, 2006, between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM at the Kahl Educational Center, Scott Community College, 326 W 3rd St., Davenport, IA 52801.

Remembering Our Recently Deceased Region 5 Members
George R. Eggert was named Fellow of ICCP in February 2003 and was the first full-time Executive Director of the ICCP serving from 1984 to 1995. He served as a President of DPMA, as President of the American Federation for Information Processing Societies (AFIPS) and a President of the International Federation IFIP. He was formerly Director of the Chicago Office of Planning and Management, Defense Contract Administration Services Region (DCASR), U.S. Department of Defense. George was a long time member of the Windy City Chapter.

Chapter Help for August
- Complete and submit the new chapter officers' form. (This form is critical to ensure the right chapter members receive AITP news and focused emails!) Again, you can find at www.aitp.org under Operations/Manuals and Forms followed by a search for Chapter Officers Form.
- Individual Performance Awards (IPA) should be submitted two months prior to the planned presentation. Use the spreadsheet on www.aitp.org under the Association Manuals and Forms web page.
- Update your chapter webpage on www.aitp.org and the chapter’s website. Let’s make the chapters in Region 5 the most current!
Reaching Out
- Check the Region 5 webpage, www.aitp.org/region5/ , for current information! The redesign and updates are in progress thanks to the web committee chaired by John Council and webmaster, Aaron Nance!
- A Speakers section has been added to the Region 5 webpage. We encourage chapters to reference the section when looking for speakers. And, please submit any speakers you would like to recommend to John Council.
- The Region 5 Officers welcome your input and questions. Feel free to contact us! Remember you can email us from the www.aitp.org webpage for Region 5.
- Would you like a Region 5 Officer to visit your chapter? Send us your request and the officers will do their best to visit your chapter!
