On March 29, 2018, IT professionals in Charlotte, North Carolina and beyond, attended INTERFACE Charlotte, a one-day event filled with presentations, panel discussions and exhibitors covering a variety of topics. IT pros of all levels were treated to the latest information on IT innovations and best practices. Sessions consisted of technical presentations on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and data center systems storage, as well as workforce discussions, including a well-received panel on talent development across all generations. The event’s keynote speaker, Mark Villinski, director of field marketing for Kaspersky Lab, offered attendees insight into the myriad ways that IT enables cybercrime.

CompTIA AITP Charlotte Chapter members participated in the Exhibitor Showcase, which provided an opportunity to connect with prospective members and local IT professionals and build relationships with vendors and other organizations. In addition, the chapter co-hosted a special lunch meeting facilitated by Kathryn Rose, senior advisor, Achieve Unite and founder/CEO of WiseHer. Kathryn, an award-winning author and speaker and sales, marketing and business development executive with 20+ years of experience on Wall Street and in technology companies, delivered an impactful session focused on how to develop the soft skills needed to succeed in IT.

“We were very pleased to have CompTIA AITP Charlotte participate in the INTERFACE Charlotte event this year,” said Larry Bumgardner, president of CompTIA AITP Charlotte and IT project leader at FMC Lithium. “We enjoyed the chance to raise our visibility within our local IT community and highlight CompTIA AITP resources and expertise. Chapter membership provides IT pros opportunities to meet and connect with one another, and we look forward to having a presence at more local tech events.”
