AITP Chicago is proud to sponsor several Special Interest Groups (SIG) that focus on our specific areas of the business of IT. Typically SIG chairs will hold presentation, roundtable or panel type events monthly or quarterly. A list of our current SIGs, brief descriptions and links the their calendar of events are below.
AITP Chicago events are intended to provide an atmosphere conducive to social networking, knowledge sharing, camaraderie, and thought leadership. AITP maintains a policy that prohibits active or passive solicitation of its attendees before, during, or after an event. The CIO Special Interest Group serve those who have overall responsibility for IT strategy, best practices and technologies in their business organizations and/or business units The SIG's focus is to provide CIO practitioners with a means to share lessons learned and seek guidance from their peers in other Chicago area businesses.
|Small/Medium Business IT Leaders|

The Small/Medium Business IT Leaders Special Interest Group serves IT Leaders in mid-size companies who are dealing with all aspects of IT management including IT strategy, best practices, back office systems, infrastructure and customer facing applications / websites. These IT leaders are not only making decisions on direction and leading their department, but also rolling up their sleeves and doing hands-on work.
This SIG meets: every 2nd Thursday of the month

The PMO SIG's Mission is to provide a forum for the professional exchange of project management knowledge, disciplines, solution opportunities, best practices, challenges, and successes. The PMO SIG through this forum will promote the value of project management as a vital contributor to an organization’s strategic goals, competitive advantage, and success. Recognizing the critical interrelationship among project, program, and portfolio management disciplines, (PPM), PMO SIG programs will be broadly constructed to encourage membership and participation from practitioners in all three disciplines. Recognizing that there are numerous accredited third party sources for PMO training, certification and bodies of knowledge, this SIG will provide formal programs and sharing of experiences that encourage excellence in practical application of PMO.

The BI Leadership Forum’s mission is to enable the sharing and development of business intelligence best practices among technology and business leaders in a vendor neutral setting. Our events are highly collaborative and provide an outstanding opportunity to network and build lasting relationships with peers throughout the Chicago area.
This Special Interest Group welcomes leaders who are responsible for developing and executing their company’s business intelligence strategies. Forum meetings will focus on a single topic presented by a host member or guest speaker followed by facilitated group discussion or Q&A to further share ideas and develop best practices.
Forum events are free to AITP members and guests. We highly encourage member IT leaders bring their business counterparts to provide broader perspective and help further educate all on the value and importance of BI.
