AITP will hold a webinar on the SANS training discount available to AITP members (and their employers)
Thursday November 21 at 2:00 pm Central Time.
In a previous
article for the Information Executive, I mentioned the importance of
educating your users on security, and cited that usually the biggest gaps in a
company’s security stems from its employees. I also mentioned that AITP had
partnered with The SANS Institute to offer our members a large discount on a
particular program called "Securing the Human.”
To reiterate just a bit, this program is a series of approximately
40 online videos targeting the non-technical user and covers topics such as
HIPAA, PCI, and Social Engineering just to name a few. You get to pick and choose
which videos your individual users see. You can even present the
financial-oriented videos to your finance department, while excluding those
from say the Marketing team.
The agreement with SANS allows AITP members
to purchase the training program on behalf of their employer for $3,500 for up
to 700 users. That’s only $5 per user!
I’ve successfully rolled it out to my organization with very good
results. Through a management portal, you can track the status of users and the
videos they’ve watched. You can even prompt the user with a series of questions
after each video if you so choose. In short, it is a very well-done and
I invite you to attend a Virtual Water Cooler event which will be
held on November 21st at 3pm ET to hear more about it from my personal experience of
having rolled it out to my organization.
Additionally, you can visit http://www.securingthehuman.org/programs/aitp for more details.
Lastly, AITP members receive a
10% discount on all SANS core training, both for online courses, and for live
classroom, in-person training. This includes training on everything from
security essentials to hacker techniques, exploits, incident handling, network
penetration testing, ethical hacking, computer forensic investigations, web app
penetration testing, and intrusion detection. See http://www.sans.org/courses for a
list of available training. Whether a live classroom or online course,
because the training is individual, the 10% discount applies only to the actual
member of AITP. AITP members must order their training online and provide a
discount code at the time of registration at http://www.sans.org/.
Please contact email@example.com to
request the special AITP discount code before registering.
