Twin City Chapter Hands out Awards

At its annual Student Award/Bosses' night meeting, the AITP Twin City Chapter in Bloomington/Normal, IL handed out a number of awards.
The chapter is proud to announce the recipient of the $1,000 Student Award. The award is given out annually to a student chapter AITP member that has at least 60 credit hours and is in an IT related field. The recipient this year is Chris Orozco of Illinois State University. Chris is the student chapter president of the ISU IT Club where he coordinates events with employers, student tours, monthly meetings, and other IT Club events. Prior to ISU, Chris was in the Marine Corps. There, he was a Class Guide, Class Commander, and also received the "Warrior Award”, which is awarded to the most motivating member in the class. Chris was also an administrator and team leader supporting the largest computer network in Iraq, serving about 42,000 users. Additionally, Chris was a Platoon Sergeant for the Mojave Viper Communications team. Chris is Security + certified and is currently interning at COUNTRY Financial in ITS Security. In December 2012 he plans to obtain a job in the IT field while staying in the Bloomington Area.
Also in attendance and recognized at the meeting was Rebecca Duxler of Illinois State University. Rebecca was one of two recipients of the association's Robert Half Technology / AITP Scholarship this year. Rebecca is the incoming ISU student chapter president.
The Twin City chapter also honored a number of professional chapter members for their contributions with the Individual Performance Award.
