AITP Atlanta Chapter Meeting
Crown Plaza Ravinia
4355 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, GA
Security: Digital Privacy & GDPR
You may be asking yourself why and EU regulation has any bearing on US operations, but it does – and not in a small way! The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU. GDPR extends the scope of EU data protection law to all foreign companies processing data of EU residents. This essentially means that ANY organization who is processing personal data for EU residents must follow this regulation to do business in the EU – or do business with companies who are doing business with EU – and so on, and so on…….
As a Solutions Engineer for OneTrust, Ryan Edge truly understands the far-reaching implications of this regulation. He will provide an overview of data protection in general and the GDPR, including:
- What is it?
- Which organizations does it apply to?
- What role do IT professionals plan?
Registration is open now, and seating – while plentiful – will be limited, so do not wait to sign up for what will be a “can’t miss” evening! If you’ve missed our first few meetings in 2018, I also wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that AITP is “back home.” We’ve signed a new agreement with the folks at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia, bringing back our meetings to this wonderful location.
