If you attended the September 10 AITP Chapter Meeting and Panel, you had the opportunity to hear from the panelists about the current state of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning at a high level. We will now bring this to a level of strategic thinking, and learn from our panelists about their journeys, and how to start building a pragmatic strategy that brings value to the business.

Derek Riley, Ph.D., is an associate professor in MSOE’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department and the director of MSOE’s new Computer Science program, which is focused on artificial intelligence. In addition to teaching at MSOE, he provides big data and AI consulting services, helping them turn the information they’re collecting into decisions to enhance their bottom line. He is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education and the Association for Computing Machinery. His areas of expertise include big data, artificial intelligence, modeling and simulation, scrum and agile processes, and mobile app development.
Kaustubh Tare heads the Financial Services vertical globally for Quinnox Inc, a Chicago based business and technology consulting company helping clients with their Digital journey. His responsibilities include for crafting and executing strategic direction for the Financial Services business, directing and mentoring business and delivery teams and next generation leaders, creating innovative offerings and solutions. Kaustubh has 20+ years of experience focused on Financial Services across FinTech products and Consulting services with companies like Citi, Oracle, Infosys and Capgemini. His expertise span across Retail and Commercial banking, Capital Markets, Asset and Wealth management as well as Cards and payments.Kaustubh is also a certified data scientist driving C Level discussions on creation of “Intelligent Core” for the Digital strategy by operationalizing AI/ML across the value chain of Data Engineering, Data Science, “AI Native Apps” as well as embedded AI across various technologies like Python/ R as well as platforms like Microsoft Azure ML studio, various Amazon AWS offerings, as well as Google technologies like Tensorflow.
John Young is the Data Science and Machine Learning practice lead for Capax Global, a data platform, analytics consultancy and Microsoft partner. He has experience building and leading teams to deliver technology and predictive analytics solutions in manufacturing, financial services, and distribution. John is a hands-on leader that can build models with engineers and data scientists while also working effectively with business leaders at all levels to become more data-driven. John has a BS in Computer Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and a MS in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University.
Konrad Konarski currently is the Practice Leader for AI & IOT at V-Soft Consulting. He has worked more than 15 years with emerging technologies such as IOT and Artificial Intelligence. As a successful entrepreneur, engineer, business professional, and thought leader he has a unique holistic perspective on delivering AI solutions that bring tangible value to customers. His professional career has included working for fortune 500 companies to lead and support their digital transformations , most recently Konrad led the IBM Watson Center in Eastern Europe.
